If you didn’t make it to ?Coverings 2016?, check out Architizer’s highlights of the diverse range of new products featured in the Italian pavilion.
Transition and Noon are among the porcelain tile that have impressed more.

Mirage USA

The Transition collection presents a not-so-gradual gradient effect tile called Fade. With tonal bars in a single unit, Fade tiles can create some rather striking, unique compositions on floors or walls. The 24- and 48-inch-square units come in five color palettes inspired by their namesake’s landscapes: Ostuni, Lecce, Matera, Turin and Milan.

A second design that caught our attention was Pennies from Mirage’s Noon collection. The whimsical mesh-backed mosaic puts a literal spin on the classic pennyround by digitally printing the face of each round with a copper penny’s head (Lincoln profile) or tail (Lincoln Memorial building).

HMADE. Make it your Home.

HMADE is a new perspective in ceramics.

A project aiming to go beyond the traditional notion of a concept becoming a single material in a variety of surfaces and colours to meet the demands of countless final applications. HMADE is an integrated interior design project that started out with an idea but is capable of combining different surfaces, textures, traditions, styles and tastes. All in a single space: your home.

HMADE is combined project.

A ceramic “melting pot”, a concept that strives to go beyond traditional conceptual confines defining the use of a collection of ceramics for a new way of putting together the rooms we use in contemporary life. It starts out with the study of a room, outlining its spaces and using all the elements within it, connecting them together in a single integrated process and a new creative synergy.

HMADE is four materials in one.

We took different ideas and textures that come from different cultures, traditions and styles but are intrinsically linked to one another. We emphasised this link by generating a new expressive potential that is achieved by putting them all together. HMADE tells the story of modern life, our stories, experiences, and emotions in a never more tangible way, inspired by four extraordinary products: cottocemento, wood, brick and hand-painted majolica tiles.

HMADE is inspiration, creation and material.

HMADE is your home.

“Setting up home” with HMADE is easy, stimulating and fun.

5 colours of COTTOCEMENTO for clean and modern interior design. The contemporary looks of concrete slabs reworked in ceramic and elegantly contaminated by the vintage allure of terracotta from Umbria, Tuscany and France. The meticulous detailing, the patterns and the layering of the ceramic body, help each element to retain its distinctive personality while blending them all into a single material. And so modern terracotta and the reclaimed terracotta from old homes have the classic oxidation flaming caused during firing in a perfect combination of the classic looks of terracotta and the contemporary appeal of cement.

2 shades of WOOD inspired by reclaimed wooden floorboards with their aged looks, worn and steamed to achieve a soft surface that is a joy to touch. Lime-washed boards, sanded and planed down to restore their natural colour. A look that can be enhanced by a delicately uneven pattern created by the arrangement of the boards.

7 different BRICKS from lime-washed wood to classic stone walls and the typical bricks of Italian houses, and the classic terracotta brick that has been aged and altered by the passing of time.
A “brickwork” solution that irrevocably brings the pop and post-industrial feeling of a New York loft to mind, while conjuring up more rustic settings too: two aesthetics offering a choice of mood for the home and with no limits in terms of spaces, furniture or moment.

Majolica tiles recalling the look of the individual hand-painted patterns of expert decorators. The Sant’Antonio MAJOLICA TILES conveys this feeling of craftsmanship in 4 shades of colour and over 40 different designs enhanced by the porcelain stoneware body by Mirage that is seen along the edges as the glaze on old majolica tiles shrinks back a little, revealing the base colour underneath. A must for rooms like kitchens and bathrooms where looks, practical features and functionality are essential. The bright colours and durable surface of the Sant’Antonio Majolica tiles make them an interior design solution of great charm, capable of bringing together taste, tradition and innovation.
